User interface
Removed Internet suite/Browser only selection from start-up procedure and made messaging client integration dynamic:
E-mail, newsfeeds, and chat may now be activated independently of each other.
Individual menus and panels for Mail and Chat will be displayed as accounts are added under Tools > Chat and mail accounts.
The contacts panel is displayed when an e-mail and/or chat account is added.
Removed "Enable mail and chat" option from preferences.
Added a choice between "Prefer pages inside window" (tabs), "Separate windows" (SDI), and "Advanced MDI" in Preferences > Windows
"Prefer pages inside window" enables an interface similar to 7.60 Preview 2, with close buttons on each tab, no MDI controls (minimize, maximize, and restore), and click-to-minimize disabled.
"Separate windows" enables SDI.
"Advanced MDI" enables MDI.
The Start bar for blank pages now drops down from the URL field.
Start bar is fully customizable and can be disabled in Customize
The Top 10 list contains the 10 sites you visit most
Favicons for bookmarks work again.
Notification tooltips will now appear where the System tray is, usually in the bottom right of the screen.
Fixed a problem preventing toolbars from being enabled if their placement had been set to "off"
Fixed a crash that occurred when opening a new window if the Page bar placement wasn't set to "top"
Added Ctrl + F12 and Shift + F12 as keyboard shortcuts for the Preferences and Customize dialogs, respectively.

Display
Activated ERA (Extensible Rendering Architecture), enabled by selecting Fit to width from the View menu. ERA formats the viewed page differently according to the available width.
Printing now defaults to Fit to width (disable in File > Print options).

Trigger quirks mode to render pages using the IBM doctype correctly.
Made <button> look more like <input type=button>
Voice
The prefix "browser" is now mandatory for all commands directed at the Opera interface, to avoid problems with pages written in X+V.
Unchecking "Enable sound in Web pages" in Preferences > Multimedia/Quick preferences will now disable Voice.
Messaging
Made sure that the newsfeed name is not left empty when clicking on a feed and subscribing to it.
Fix to avoid duplicate newsfeed items.
Preliminary support for links/URLs using "irc://". Only the server/room parts of the URLs are supported.
Fixed preview 2 problem where clicking the CC button would add input to the "To:" field.

Ich nutze Opera schon seit auflage und muss zu dem Fazit kommen das der Opera Internet Browser der beste ist den ich je benutzt habe. Hab mir sogar das Original gekauft! So was unterst?tzte ich gerne!

Der Opera ist nicht so anf?llig gegen angriffe wie der IE6.
Die Handhabung ist viel einfacher und bequemer .
Und er leuft auch fl?ssiger und schneller (finde ich).

Aber wie habt ihr das mit den ed2k links f?r den Esel hinbekommen ??
Das Funktioniert bei mir nicht .

Gehe mal auf Extras-Einstellungen-Programme und Pfade.Dann auf hinzuf?gen Protokoll=ed2k. Und bei Programm gibste halt den Pfad zum Muli an.

User interface
Added "Check for new release" to Help menu. This is not yet fully functional.
Changed default start-up setting to "Continue from last time".
Trying out on-line help files using Operator Cache, which leaves all previously visited help files in local storage.
Improved notification pop-ups for downloads and messages.
Inline find checkbox added to Search preferences (was found in Edit menu pre-7.60).

Status display for newsfeeds changed from "Fetching messages" to "Updating newsfeeds".
New mailing list views now default to threaded sorting.
Changed URL in default e-mail signature.
Added mark thread as read and go to next unread commands and keyboard shortcuts.

User Interface
Enabled downloading of the file ua.ini for site-specific changing of the user agent string. Check is performed automatically with the "Check for new version" function.
Added dialog for reporting sites that do not work well with Opera. Available in the "Help" menu.
Renamed "Customize" dialog to "Appearance". Skin settings included in the new dialog.
When starting download, allow transfer dialog to stay in the background.
Clicking and holding the "Back" or "Forward" button will show a dropdown with history.
Improved session manager.
Removed workspace mode from start-up dialog.
Let dragged history list elements contain a URL and a title, allowing to drag and drop them to more toolbars and external programs.

IRC settings are now stored in incoming options file rather than in accounts.ini.
Setting in IRC account properties for whether or not to accept incoming connections.
Improved handling of IRC URLs. Will match the server name in the URL against all servers listed for an account, and only create a new account if none match.
Security
Added whitelist of safe top-level domains for IDN.
TLDs are considered safe if they have implemented anti-homographic character policies or otherwise limited the available set of characters to prevent spoofing.
Current whitelist contains: :no:jp:de:se:kr:tw:cn:at:dk:ch:li:
List is in opera6.ini and is updated automatically in the Opera version check.
Domain names from other top-level domains that contain characters outside Latin 1 will be displayed in punycode, an encoding syntax designed for use with IDNA, specified in RFC3492.

Added support for the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) -- real-time requests for certificate status.
Improved security dialog launched when clicking keypad icon in address field.

f?r den Tipp. Opera startet tats?chlich schneller. Das war aber auch nur in letzter Zeit so das es lange gedauert hat.
